Sri Lakshmi | Board of Director
Sri Lakshmi is a dedicated social impact leader and a strong voice for girls’ education and women empowerment. She firmly believes that education is the most powerful tool to break cycles of inequality and create a more just and inclusive society. Her commitment to this cause is rooted in the conviction that when a girl is educated, she gains not only knowledge but confidence, independence, and the ability to shape her own future.
Throughout her journey, Sri Lakshmi has actively supported initiatives that promote access to education for underprivileged girls, awareness around the importance of schooling, and the long-term empowerment of women. She is especially passionate about addressing the social and economic barriers that prevent girls from completing their education, including poverty, early responsibilities, and lack of resources.
As a Board of Director at EducatingHer, Sri Lakshmi plays a key role in guiding the organization’s mission to ensure that every girl, regardless of her background, has the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive. Her empathetic leadership, clear vision, and unwavering belief in education as a catalyst for change continue to inspire the organization’s efforts to build a brighter and more equitable future for girls and women.
Shanker Goud | Board of Director
Shanker Goud is a distinguished public servant and social advocate with over three decades of dedicated service as a Police Officer with the Government of Telangana. Throughout his career, he has been widely respected for his integrity, leadership, and unwavering commitment to public welfare and community safety.
Beyond his official responsibilities, Mr. Goud has consistently devoted his time and energy to social causes that uplift vulnerable communities. He has been a strong advocate for women’s empowerment, actively supporting initiatives that promote safety, dignity, and equal opportunities for women. He is equally passionate about children’s education, believing that access to quality education is the foundation for long-term social transformation.
Mr. Goud has also extended his service to the care and well-being of the elderly, working closely with old age homes and support programs to ensure that senior citizens receive respect, care, and a life of dignity. His lifelong dedication to service reflects a deep sense of responsibility toward society and a genuine commitment to improving the lives of those in need.
As a Board of Director, Shanker Goud brings valuable experience, ethical leadership, and a service-oriented vision to the organization, guiding its mission to create lasting and meaningful social impact.
Vanitha Vijay | Board of Director
Vanitha is a pioneering women’s rights activist, educator, and thought leader whose work has shaped conversations around gender equality and social justice in India for decades. As the Founder-President of the Progressive Organization of Women and the Research Center of Women’s Studies, she has led impactful movements that amplify women’s voices, challenge systemic inequalities, and advocate for inclusive policies and social reform.
In parallel with her activism, Vanitha has served as a government high school teacher in Hyderabad, where she has directly influenced the lives of countless students through education. Her experience in public education has given her deep insight into the challenges faced by girls in government schools—ranging from access and retention to confidence, safety, and societal expectations. She strongly believes that education is not only a right, but a powerful instrument for liberation and long-term social change.
As a Board of Director at EducatingHer, Vanitha brings a unique combination of grassroots activism, academic research, and classroom-level experience. Her leadership strengthens the organization’s mission to ensure that girls receive quality education, supportive environments, and the opportunity to realize their full potential. Through her lifelong commitment to justice and empowerment, she continues to inspire change at both the community and national levels.
